Food and Nutrition Judging Requirements

We are so excited that you have decided to participate in the Food and Nutrition 4-H projects. This information is to help clarify some of the requirements for your project as it is more in-depth than many of the other projects.

To clarify, project requirements are:

  • Bring at least one serving of food prepared from a recipe in the book.
  • Bring recipe used, and menu including the prepared item, balanced according to MyPlate.
  • Present recipe on a complete, appropriate table setting (no table required).
  • Bring completed project portfolio, requirements attached.

The time between our judging and the state fair is short, so if selected for State Fair you will appreciate having this completed. The State Fair does NOT support bringing food items with you due to possible food borne illness and long commutes.
