Sheep, Goat, and Dairy Feeder Weigh-in for 2019 Van Wert County Jr. Fair exhibitors will be Saturday, June 1, 2019 at the Van Wert County Fairgrounds. Dairy Feeders will weigh in at the Beef Barn and Sheep and Goats will weigh at the Hog Barn. Animals will weigh in from 8:00am-10:30am. You do not have to be present with your animal to identify it and weigh-in, but the animal must attend weigh-in to be eligible to participate in the Jr. Fair.

Dairy Feeders:

Please park on the east side of the beef barn and wait to be identified before getting in line to be weighed. If conditions are too wet, trailers will be parked on paths.

All dairy feeders will receive Once PMH vaccination as an aid in the control of respiratory disease caused by Mannheimia haemolytica and as an aid in the prevention of disease caused by Pasteurella multocida. The vaccination will be administered under the direction of Doctor John Jones and is mandatory.

Goat & Sheep:

Coming from the South, come in the East side of the hog barn to unload. Please note that your animals must have scrapies identification in the form of tags or tattoos. If you do not have this identification, please check with the breeder first. If you are the breeder, please contact the Extension Office for details on what to do.

Hog Tag Pick Up:

Identification tags and instructions will be available from 8:00am-10:30am at the Jr. Fair Board office, located on the south end of the fairgrounds next to the Farm Focus show arena. Instructions on submitting tags will be included with your packet, and final deadline for submitting information is Saturday, June 15, 2019. Information will be submitted through online forms like was done in 2018. No hogs should be brought to the fairgrounds at this time. Anyone can pick up tags for an exhibitor; we just need to know how many tags.

Hog Information can be entered online (even with your mobile device) at the following link! https://vanwert.osu.edu/program-areas/4-h-youth-development/jr-fair/jr-fair-hog-tagging
